Cindy Ruakere: Suffering

How do we know God is with us in our trials?
What are His promises and where is His goodness in those sorts of seasons?

Jeremiah 29.11 speaks of the plans He has for us, plans of a future filled with hope, but with this promise comes a call to action. To see this promise of a hopeful future realised we have to be looking back at our past, constantly reminding ourselves of His goodness, and never doubting His faithfulness. That is why prophecy and those rhema words (those scriptures that 'jump out at you') are so important, they anchor you in promises previously spoken, giving you courage to continue pressing forward in the midst of trials and suffering.

We must continue to remind ourselves that it is God who determines our destiny, not current circumstances, not financial constraints, not relational difficulties, not even life or death situations. It is God and God alone who determines our destiny and remember, His purposes for us are always only for good! (Psalm 16.5)
